Job Summary
Collaborating closely with various teams, the full-time Technical Writer will perform technical edits, create documentation templates, and develop user guides for the Testing Process Quality Improvement (TPQI) organization within the Department of Veterans Affairs, working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Perform technical edits for quality assurance on documentation prior to customer delivery
- Create and implement consistent writing templates and documentation styles for all technical publications
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop user guides and process documentation while ensuring all processes are documented efficiently
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, or a related field with 3-5 years of Technical Writing experience in IT or Software development
- Experience interviewing SMEs to gather technical details and creating technical manuals or quick reference guides
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, Teams, and SharePoint
- Proven ability to work independently while effectively communicating with supervisors
- Experience with AI tools to enhance documentation processes
