Technical Writer (Editor)

Job Summary

Contributing to critical missions at Los Alamos National Laboratory, the full-time remote Writer (Editor 3) will edit, format, and ensure compliance of Safety Basis documents while coordinating with authors and technical experts to enhance document quality.

Key responsibilities

• Ensuring Safety Basis documents are clear, consistent, and compliant for internal and external review
• Editing and quality-checking various technical documents, including Documented Safety Analyses and Hazard Analyses
• Coordinating with authors and engineers to resolve comments and improve document quality while maintaining version control

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Technical Communication, Physical Science, Social Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 6-8 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience editing technical or regulatory documentation with a strong command of grammar and document structure
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and document control tools
• U.S. Citizenship required due to federal contract security requirements
