Technical Writer for FAA Compliance

Job Summary

To support the revision and modernization of a maintenance manual for an airport weather system, the contract Technical Writer for FAA Compliance will work remotely to update documentation, ensuring alignment with FAA standards while collaborating with engineering experts over approximately 200 hours across six months.

Key responsibilities

• Update and rewrite a 103-page technical maintenance manual to meet FAA regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with internal engineering experts to clarify installation and maintenance procedures
• Participate in review meetings and produce publication-ready documentation

Required qualifications

• Extensive technical writing experience
• Experience with regulatory documentation, preferably in FAA or similar industries
• Background in engineering or scientific writing
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and regulatory language
• Experience collaborating with engineers and technical subject matter experts
