Technical Writer III - S1000D
Job Summary
To support advanced aerospace and defense programs, the contract Technical Writer III - S1000D will develop technical documentation, author structured XML content, and interpret engineering diagrams while working remotely for a 12-month contract-to-hire position.
Key responsibilities
- Develop technical, operations, and maintenance manuals, as well as test plans and procedures
- Author and maintain structured XML content or S1000D data modules
- Manage documentation reviews, revisions, and change control processes
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Hands-on structured XML authoring experience
- Proficiency with Oxygen XML Editor, Arbortext, XMetaL, or similar platforms
- Advanced knowledge of technical writing and publishing
- Experience developing technical, operations, or maintenance manuals
