Job Summary
To support internal network order fulfillment, the remote Infrastructure Design Technician will design circuit paths and equipment loads, ensuring accurate design layout records and documentation for network maintenance and failures on a 6-month contract basis.
Key responsibilities
- Design and redesign Layer 1 circuit layout records in the TIRKS database to accurately reflect the network build
- Collaborate with Planning and Engineering to provision equipment and infrastructure circuits that meet customer needs
- Maintain and support network infrastructure records across applicable applications, ensuring compliance with SLAs
Required qualifications
- Knowledge of optical networking equipment such as Ciena, Fujitsu, and Alcatel/Lucent
- Experience with telecommunications inventory systems like TIRKS, OMNIvue, and BOSS
- Previous experience designing infrastructure circuits in a telecommunications network
- Understanding of inside plant fiber optic structured wiring design and operations
- Robust technical knowledge of voice, data, and ethernet products and related equipment
