Job Summary
To support network operations, the remote Infrastructure Design Technician will design circuit paths and equipment loads, manage internal network order fulfillment, and maintain accurate design layout records on a contract basis.
Key responsibilities
- Design and redesign Layer 1 circuit layout records in the TIRKS database to reflect network builds accurately
- Collaborate with Planning and Engineering teams to provision equipment and infrastructure circuits based on customer needs
- Provide technical support for engineering, installation, and testing to ensure successful completion of network orders
Required qualifications
- Knowledge of optical networking equipment such as Ciena, Fujitsu, and Alcatel/Lucent
- Experience with telecommunications inventory systems like TIRKS, OMNIvue, and WMS
- Proficiency in inside plant fiber optic structured wiring design and operations
- Previous experience designing infrastructure circuits in a telecommunications network
- Strong technical understanding of voice, data, and Ethernet products and related equipment
