Telecom Infrastructure Design Technician

Job Summary

To support network operations, the remote Infrastructure Design Technician will design circuit paths and equipment loads, manage internal network order fulfillment, and maintain accurate design layout records on a contract basis.

Key responsibilities

• Design and redesign Layer 1 circuit layout records in the TIRKS database to reflect network builds accurately
• Collaborate with Planning and Engineering teams to provision equipment and infrastructure circuits based on customer needs
• Provide technical support for engineering, installation, and testing to ensure successful completion of network orders

Required qualifications

• Knowledge of optical networking equipment such as Ciena, Fujitsu, and Alcatel/Lucent
• Experience with telecommunications inventory systems like TIRKS, OMNIvue, and WMS
• Proficiency in inside plant fiber optic structured wiring design and operations
• Previous experience designing infrastructure circuits in a telecommunications network
• Strong technical understanding of voice, data, and Ethernet products and related equipment
