Job Summary
A healthcare company is filling a position for a Telecommute Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon Utilization Review Physician in Austin.
Core Responsibilities of this position include:
- Reviewing medical files and providing recommendations for utilization review, chart reviews, medical necessity, etc
- Returning cases in a timely manner with clear, concise, and complete rationales and documented criteria
- Developing teaching and training manuals to educate reviewers
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Ability to attend orientation and training, as well as regular CPR staff physician meetings
- Board certified MD, DO, DC or allied health professional
- Excellent understanding of network services and managed care
- Current, unrestricted clinical license(s)
- Must be in active medical practice to perform appeals
- Board certification by American Board of Medical specialties or American Board of Osteopathic Specialties
