Data & Analytics Solution Architect

BlueGranite Solution Architects are senior members of our team, helping in a variety of technical leadership, pre-sales, and project leadership roles within the company. Solution Architects primarily focus on project delivery, leading discussions and activities to help assess, design, and architect data and analytics solutions using Microsoft SQL Server, Azure, and Power BI. BlueGranite architects work on a variety of solution areas, from data warehousing and business intelligence, to big data and advanced analytics - collaborating with specialists on our team to solve exciting, real-world business problems and deliver value for our clients.

Responsibilities

Architect data and analytics solutions using Microsoft SQL, Azure, and Power BI

Design cloud and hybrid solutions leveraging Azure

Create informative and interactive data visualizations/models with Power BI

Utilize key components of SQL Server (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, MDS/DQS, ML Services)

Leverage Microsoft cloud-based solutions for data/analytics including Azure HDInsight, Azure SQL DW, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Machine Learning

Assist with pre-sales activities including requirements gathering, scoping, and project estimating

Maintain technical certifications in core area(s) of expertise

Create value through effective collaboration with clients, partners, and other BlueGranite team members

Qualifications

12+ years of professional experience with data/analytics solution development/delivery

Demonstrable skill with Microsoft SQL Server, Azure, and Power BI for data/analytics

Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written are required

Leadership experience with consultative data/analytics project delivery

Experience with scoping and estimating solution development efforts

Degree in information technology, computer science, business, or engineering preferred but not required


Additional Information

This position is remote, work from home. BlueGranite consultants average 25%-35% overnight travel per year. Typically, this travel consists of one to three weekday nights, once or twice in a month. Travel overall is minimal and will vary based on the type of project and client location.
