Job Summary
A communication technology and services company is filling a position for a Telecommute Data Center Engineer.
Candidates will be responsible for the following:
- Maintaining and developing data-center-related requirements
- Evaluating data center hosts/providers against requirements
- Documenting and presenting technical and administrative requirements
Position Requirements Include:
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline related to networking, telephony, and/or computers
- 7+ years work experience including 5 years with data centers, data center infrastructure and implementation, power, security, and telephony best practices
- In-depth understanding of the datacenter ecology, including infrastructure, server deployment, networking deployment, remote management (IMPI etc.) solutions, and cabling structures. Holds one or more related industry standard certifications
- Experience with virtualization software such as VMware ESXi
- Intermediate network engineering and design of solutions involving multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices, and network management systems
- Experience in telephony and/or 9-1-1 addressing and public safety systems
