Job Summary

A non-profit organization needs applicants for an opening for a Telecommute Data Science Specialist in Richmond.

Candidates will be responsible for the following:

  • Developing and implementing enhanced COVID-19 surveillance projects
  • Facilitating electronic collection and transfer of data related to testing, vaccination, or hospitalizations for COVID-19
  • Synthesizing and coordinating communication of these data to public health partners across multiple data environments

Required Skills:

  • Master’s degree in data science/engineering/analytics, computer science, public health data, or related field
  • Expertise in a programming and query languages such as R, python, SQL, or similar language
  • Experience with QA and QC systems, data validation and verification protocols, and data governance processes
  • Experience working with data providers and communicating results to end users and management
  • Must have strong programming and/or informatics knowledge
  • Must have knowledge of basic data structures and formats, including the design of relational table structures
