Job Summary
A healthcare consulting and recruitment firm has an open position for a Telecommute Diagnosis Related Group Review Coder in New York City.
Core Responsibilities Include:
- Validating ICD-9/10 coding to ensure proper DRG assignment
- Referring cases with possible utilization and/or quality issues
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Must attend 2 week training and on-site reviews in and outside of NY as assigned
- High School diploma or equivalent
- AHIMA or AAPC approved credentials
- At least 2 years of inpatient medical coding with ICD-9-CM / CPT & ICD-10
- Knowledge of MS-DRG classification and reimbursement structures
- Proficient at writing AHIMA complaint physician queries
