Job Summary
A provider of content delivery network services is filling a position for a Telecommute Edge Cloud Operations Manager.
Core Responsibilities of this position include:
- Coordinating build activities, planned customer events, capacity augments, traffic engineering, and break fix troubleshooting
- Improving platform observability, availability, tooling and automation, and process efficiencies
- Providing support, mentoring, guidance, and career pathing to members of your team
Skills and Requirements Include:
- 5+ years of direct involvement with network and/or systems engineering
- 5+ years working with at least one of: Perl, Python, Go
- 3+ years leading a remote-friendly engineering or operations team
- Comprehensive knowledge of how CDNs work: TCP/IP, BGP anycast, DNS, HTTP, TLS, reverse proxies, etc
- System Admin experience in Linux-based environment, open source tools (Chef, Ansible, Homebrew, Git, Awk, Sed, cURL)
- Cultivation of monitoring systems and interfaces, such as Datadog, Nagios, Ganglia, Icinga, Pingdom, Catchpoint, Cedexis, Graphite, Prometheus, Grafana and others.
