Job Summary
An online education company needs applicants for an opening for a Telecommute Elementary School Teacher.
Individual must be able to fulfill the following responsibilities:
- Take ownership for students’ academic progress and attendance, communicating high expectations and showing active interest in students’ achievement
- Prepare students for high stakes standardized tests
- Conduct live synchronous teaching – minimum of 15 hours per week
Must meet the following requirements for consideration:
- Ability to travel to testing sites to proctor state exams
- Ability to travel as required (on average once per month and/or approximately 10% of the time) for face to face professional development, student testing
- Bachelor's degree; AND 6 months of student teaching experience; AND ability to meet requirements for Highly Qualified Teacher in subject area under No Child Left Behind
- Pedagogical knowledge of content being taught
- Appropriate New Mexico teaching certification
- Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in company systems, programs and curriculum
