Job Summary

A healthcare consulting firm has a current position open for a Telecommute Health Information Facility Electronic Data Coder.

Must be able to:

• Be responsible for reviewing and abstracting patient medical records
• Ensure that all services documented in the patient’ s medical record are coded with the appropriate diagnosis
• Provide written feedback of coding results per comments, summary findings and recommendations

Qualifications Include:

• A minimum of 5+ years’ experience required coding for facility emergency department medical services.
• Requires advanced technical knowledge in specific surgical and medical specialties as assigned
• Must be a certified coder through AHIMA (CCS credential)
• Must have experience with data entry of codes into a database and/or software tool
• Extensive knowledge of medical terminology
• Requires experience with Infusions and Charging
