Job Summary
A hospital and healthcare solutions company needs applicants for an opening for a Telecommute Healthcare and Hospital Same Day Surgery and Observation Facility Coder.
Candidates will be responsible for the following:
- Assigning appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with current, official guidelines
- Compiling and maintaining logs, reports, and statistical records and researches records to locate health data as required
- Maintaining and utilizing a variety of health record indexes and storage retrieval systems
Qualifications for this position include:
- All candidates must be credentialed, i.e., CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CPC, or COC
- Outpatient experience
- Acceptable score on company Coding Assessment Test
- Maintain AHIMA standards in productivity and quality
- Must be computer literate; able to work with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and multiple/various coding & abstracting applications
- Must be able to communicate effectively with clients and Team Members, both verbally and written
