Job Summary

A healthcare provider needs applicants for an opening for a Telecommute Hospital Coder II in Vancouver.

Candidates will be responsible for the following:

• Reviewing the medical record to assure specificity of diagnoses and procedures for code assignment
• Researching and providing education to providers and staff regarding coding and compliance issues
• Abstracting information from medical records following established methods and procedures

Required Skills:

• Current CPC-H, CCS, RHIT or RHIA (Registered Health Information Manager) required
• Five years of directly related work experience inpatient acute care, hospital-based coding and abstracting
• Used ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding systems required
• Formal training or college coursework from a medical coding accredited school, in lieu of experience may be considered
• Ability to maneuver through multiple computer applications including encoders
• All other requirements necessary for this position
