Job Summary

A healthcare company is filling a position for a Telecommute Inpatient Coder.

Must be able to:

• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes to patient charts of moderate to high complexity
• Abides by the Standards of Ethical Coding as set forth by AHIMA
• Abstract required clinical information from the medical record

Qualifications for this position include:

• Required: AHIMA or AAPC approved credential
• One to three years’ experience performing medical record coding in acute care setting required
• Knowledge of MS-DRG classification and reimbursement structures
• Understanding of appropriate level of care orders
• Working knowledge of Value Based Purchasing (VBP)
