Job Summary
A nonprofit medical practice and medical research group is searching for a person to fill their position for a Telecommute Laboratory Genetic Counselor in Rochester.
Core Responsibilities Include:
- Providing support for a variety of activities
- Providing case management, involvement in test utilization practices, liaison to external health care providers, quality improvement initiatives, lab management and operations, promotion of consistent test reporting and nomenclature standards, test development, and education
- Working on pre-test case review of clinical phenotype and candidate genes
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Master of Science or Master of Arts in genetic counseling
- Professional knowledge of the rapidly changing principles and practice of medical, clinical, and laboratory genetics
- Superior organizational skills
- Computer skills appropriate for laboratory and clinical case management necessary
- One year of on-site training or one year previous laboratory genetic counselor
