Job Summary
A content delivery network company needs applicants for an opening for a Telecommute Lead Kernel Engineer in San Francisco.
Must be able to:
- Be the hands on technical leader for the kernel engineering team
- Develop and deploy changes and new features to the kernel to keep pace with the company's growth
- Develop device drivers for new hardware used by the company
Must meet the following requirements for consideration:
- Experience developing for the Linux kernel, either professionally or strong open source contributions
- Ability to work with stakeholders within engineering, security, and product
- Willingness to learn and tenacity (we have tracked down CPU bugs!)
- Strong proficiency in C and comfort with x86 architecture
- Familiarity with the Linux kernel, including network stack, filesystems, scheduler, and memory management
- An eye for correctness and performance, in that order
