Job Summary
A healthcare company needs applicants for an opening for a Telecommute Long Term Acute Care Coder.
Must be able to:
- Perform timely and accurately the ICD-10-CM/PCS coding of all patients diagnosis/procedures
- Abstract and process the medical record following the patients discharge from the hospital
- Release confidential information
Must meet the following requirements for consideration:
- Current certification from American Health Information Management Association, credentialed as a RHIA, RHIT, CCS
- Graduate of an accredited University with an Associate or Bachelor’s degree with coursework in Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Pathophysiology
- Coding experience in an inpatient setting or LTAC environment
- Ability to project a professional image
- Knowledge and experience in the needs of patients ranging in age from 18 to geriatric
- Working knowledge and ability to apply professional standards of practice in job situations
