A publishing company is searching for a person to fill their position for a Telecommute Managing Editor in Richmond.
Core Responsibilities Include:
- Recruiting, hiring, and managing a state-based editorial team
- Coordinating daily and weekly editorial meetings
- Planning and managing all daily operations for the state site
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- B.S. or B.A. degree or equivalent in journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field
- 6+ years of experience in digital publishing, news reporting, editing or in digital political marketing or communications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong sense of voice and tone
- Experience with building an engaged cross-platform audience through content
- Experience with hiring, building, and managing a distributed team
