Job Summary
A health and hospital system needs applicants for an opening for a Telecommute Medical Coding Editor in Dallas.
Must be able to:
- Code all episodes of patient care
- Ensure accuracy of recorded patient medical information
- Ensure appropriate reimbursement for services rendered
Qualifications for this position include:
- Successful completion of an approved coding program, or are a graduate of a Health Information Management program
- 5 years of coding experience in an acute care hospital and clinical services environment
- May have an equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of specific education and/or experience as stated above
- An applicable certification through the American Health Information Management Association or the American Association of Procedural Coders
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of coding and abstracting
