Job Summary

A healthcare company is filling a position for a Telecommute Medical Director.

Individual must be able to fulfill the following responsibilities:

  • Review and finalize appeal decisions including prior authorization requests, quantity limit exceptions and tiering exceptions
  • Assist in the oversight of the appeals process
  • Assist in the oversight of the quality improvement and clinical programs for all lines of business

Qualifications Include:

  • Willingness to travel
  • Doctor of Allopathic Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
  • Must maintain an active, unrestricted license to practice medicine, in good standing, in at least one state
  • Must be board certified by a specialty board approved by the ABMS or the AOABOS from the major areas of clinical services
  • Minimum 5 years of post-graduate experience in the medical and/or pharmacy field
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver medical and clinical policies, procedures and programs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry related software programs
  • Ability to work extended hours, weekends and holidays in accordance with industry demands
