Job Summary
A health insurance company has a current position open for a Telecommute Medical Principal Data Analyst.
Candidates will be responsible for the following:
- Re-writing existing SAS-based code that runs against claims data into Python and/or SQL
- Applying data and query management principles to maximize efficiency of processing
- Collaborating with SAS Analysts on the team to streamline processes
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelors in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
- 5+ years of experience developing code to analyze healthcare claims using SAS
- 3+ years of experience developing code to analyze healthcare claims using SQL and/or Python
- 1+ years working in a cloud-based environment, preferably Azure
- Problem-solving skills to resolve data, calculation, join or performance issues
- Experience applying a broad range of statistical, mathematical, or computational approaches using data to solve problems
