Job Summary
An insurance company has a current position open for a Telecommute Medical Underwriter Specialist.
Core Responsibilities of this position include:
- Underwriting applications with high face amounts across all product lines
- Responding to appeal requests
- Speaking with applicants wishing to discuss the medical underwriting decision
Skills and Requirements Include:
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- Minimum of 3 years life and disability medical underwriting experience
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology (certification in EKG interpretation helpful)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to demonstrate leadership though peer-to-peer feedback and mentoring
