Job Summary

An IT consulting and software development and staffing company is filling a position for a Telecommute Mortgage Underwriter in New York City.

Candidates will be responsible for the following:

  • Issuing loan decision and conditioning file accordingly
  • Reviewing and approving conditions for compliance and completion of loan file
  • Providing excellent customer service to internal and external clients

Qualifications Include:

  • 2+ years current conventional mortgage loan underwriting experience
  • Re-underwriting OR Re-Financing experience
  • Strong knowledge of income calculations, tax returns, and reading credit reports
  • Basic knowledge of appraisal and ability to recognize red flags and ineligible properties
  • Knowledge of GSE underwriting guidelines and automated underwriting engines (DU/LP)
