Job Summary

A media company needs applicants for an opening for a Telecommute National News Deputy Editor.

Candidates will be responsible for the following:

• Recognizing newsworthy moments, stories and trends
• Pitching and assigning story ideas for reporters to cover
• Editing a team of reporters across the United States covering national and international news, internet trends and more

Qualifications Include:

• At least five years experience in journalism
• Must have an eye for detail
• Able to work fast, communicate clearly and read articles closely while under pressure
• Comfortable working on stories across a range of subjects and balance multiple content strategies
• Self-starter who’s able to multitask and juggle both daily and weekly pitches
