Job Summary
A healthcare services company has an open position for a Telecommute Outpatient Coding Charge Specialist.
Must be able to:
- Review medical records for the determination of accurate assignment of all documented diagnoses and procedures
- Review medical records to determine accurate required abstracting elements
- Achieve accuracy and consistency in the selection of principal and secondary diagnoses
Qualifications for this position include:
- Attends Quarterly Coding Updates and all coding conference calls
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information, Nursing, or other related field, or formal coding classes completed and passed preferred
- Three to five years’ experience performing medical record coding in acute care setting required
- Knowledge of MS-DRG classification and reimbursement structures
- Understanding of appropriate level of care orders
- All other requirements necessary for this position
