Job Summary

A healthcare organization has an open position for a Telecommute Outpatient Coding Integrity Specialist in Dallas.

Core Responsibilities Include:

• Assign, validate, and/or edit procedure categories, modifiers (when applicable)
• Review and evaluate hospital inpatient medical record documentation to assign, sequence, edit and/or validate the appropriate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10- PCS codes
• Primarily assign, validate, and/or edit codes the following patient types: Same Day Surgery (SDC), Observation (OBV), Wound Care, and Outpatient Cardiac Cath

Must meet the following requirements for consideration:

• High School graduate or GED equivalent required
• Minimum 1 year of acute care hospital inpatient coding required
• Coding Technical Skills- ICD-10-CM, HCPCS/CPT-4, and APCs
• Effective evaluation, synthesis and use of information gathered
• PC Skills - demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and others as required
