A software and web development company is in need of a Telecommute Principal Data Engineer.

Core Responsibilities of this position include:

• Providing architectural recommendations
• Enhancing Data Engineering capability through coaching, mentoring and leadership
• Co-creating and shaping strategy and approach to engagements to achieve the desired business outcomes

Required Skills:

• Have a track record of innovation and execution in Data Engineering
• Have a deep understanding of data modeling and experience with data engineering
• Have demonstrated experience designing and implementing complex data pipelines in a cloud environment
• Hands-on experience with event streaming with modern event streaming tooling
• Understanding of when streaming vs. batch processing is appropriate, and tradeoffs in a given context
• Hands-on experience with MPP query engines like Presto, BigQuery, and Spark SQL.
