Job Summary
A staffing company is seeking a Telecommute Professional Fees Emergency Department Coder in Visalia.
Candidates will be responsible for the following:
- Reviewing medical records
- Assigning and sequencing codes
- Abstracting all necessary data
Must meet the following requirements for consideration:
- One of CCA, CCS, RHIT or RHIA cerfitications in good standing
- RHIT or CCS eligible will be considered if obtained within 1 year of employment
- Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy and physiology
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, disease process, reimbursement methodologies
- Demonstrated knowledge of conventions, rules, guidelines for current coding classification
- Demonstrated understanding of the clinical content of a health record
