Due to ongoing growth, we're hiring a Senior Algorithm Engineer to join the team that's finding, implementing, and testing algorithms in the Algorithmia platform. You'll join a team of highly focused algorithm engineers developing for a platform that supports over 60k engineers and processes millions of AI/ML workloads. Our team has worked on building billion dollar products at Amazon, Danger, Microsoft, Socrata, and Paypal. As a Senior Algorithm Engineer at Algorithmia, you will:

Identify algorithms which are valuable to real-world industry applications, and build these algorithms to be called by companies around the world in their production systems (this is not a research role)
Write production-quality code in Java, Scala, or Python
Partner with data scientists, researchers, and academics to implement their work on the the Algorithmia platform
Work with a passionate, distributed team on the cutting edge of AI/ML infrastructure
Have a real career plan, with mentorship and fast-track opportunities to promotion, technical leadership, people management, or wherever your interests may be
Work from anywhere in the USA or Canada. We have teams in Seattle, NYC, Vancouver BC, Nova Scotia - or 100% remote from home
And we might make the perfect match if you:

Have an advanced degree (MS/PhD preferred) in Computer Science including practical areas of Machine Intelligence (or Deep Learning), and excellent fundamentals in computer science, algorithms, and software design
Are current on the state-of-the-art in various kinds of algorithms, and have experience applying algorithms in industry
Are a skilled software engineer with experience in multiple compiled languages (such as Java, Scala, Golang, C++) and expertise in at least one (we do a lot of Scala - and will be happy to teach you)
Have deep empathy for users, and understand that Algorithmia would not exist without them
Bonus points for experience working on distributed systems, industry data science, any kind of public AI/ML projects, distributed or parallel computing, or the implementation of something cool on our AI marketplace (hint: free trial!)
