Job Summary
General Summary:
As a Senior Staff Accountant-Revenue, this position is responsible for developing and improving all processes associated with the company's Revenue including proper channel and period recognition, accruals, and reporting in a timely and accurate manner.
This position will establish Revenue audit procedures and work closely with the company's System Development and Transaction teams as a Project Manager to improve Revenue related workflows for all Real Estate Transactions.
This position will require a high degree of problem solving and project management skills as well as the ability to Lead process improvement initiatives in a growing start up environment. To be successful, this Sr Staff Accountant will need to demonstrate systematic process improvements in all areas of their control with high emphasis on scalable solutions that improve accuracy and service to the Agents and the Organization.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop Revenue accrual & audit procedures for all Real Estate Transactions
Further automate system workflows for all Revenue Transactions
Assume and improve all monthly processes for revenue recognition and reporting including Real Estate Transactions, Agent Revenue Sources and all other potential sources of revenue accruals.
Own all monthly revenue related accruals as relates to agent transactions including, revenue share and Agent Equity Program accruals as well. Quarterly True up revenue related reviews and reporting.
Adhoc Variance reporting and Transaction Management reporting and review.
Assist with all audit requests as assigned and needed.
Ensure all proper internal controls are being followed
Assist Accounting Manager and Corporate Controller in monthly, quarterly and annual closings.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
Education:
BA/BS in Accounting with CPA credential preferred
Experience:
5+ years of GL Account Management in fast growing or start-up companies.
Revenue Accounting and Audit,
System Project Management with demonstrated collaboration skills,
Strong GL accounting, SOX404, ASC 606, routine monthly and annual closings
Strong PC skills, Superior Excel skills, and communication skills.
