Job Summary
An advertising and marketing intelligence company is in need of a Telecommute Senior Staff Software Engineer.
Individual must be able to fulfill the following responsibilities:
- Adding features to our Python & Scala platform toolkits so that engineers can easily publish custom workflow metrics to Graphite
- Partnering closely with Data Science to setup a custom conda environment for use on a JupyterHub host & capturing it
- Designing ways to improve how quickly research code in Jupyter Notebooks becomes tested, packaged & deployed production code
Skills and Requirements Include:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science 7 at least 4+ years of experience working autonomously in data-driven computing fields
- Experience using scientific computing tools in Python, such as Numpy, Pandas, Matplotlib
- Experience with technology in the Apache Hadoop ecosystem such as MapReduce, Spark, Hive
- Experience building trust and respect among operation and development teams
- A passion for knowledge-sharing, coaching, and mentoring colleagues at all stages of their professional journey
- A record of contribution to open source, be it code, documentation, tutorials, meetups, etc
