Job Summary
A healthcare company has an open position for a Telecommute Specialty Inpatient Coder in Milwaukee.
Must be able to:
- Code research cases and complex inpatient or cardiac and interventional radiology procedures
- Sequence diagnoses and procedure codes as outlined in the ICD Official Coding Guidelines
- Follow up and obtain clarification on inaccurate documentation as appropriate
Qualifications for this position include:
- CCS, RHIA, or RHIT issued by AHIMA, or CIRCC issued by AAPC
- Associate's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Health Information Management or related field
- 5 years of experience in coding in an acute health care academic environment
- Expert knowledge of ICD and PCS coding systems and MS-DRGs
- Advanced knowledge of pharmacology indications for drug usage and related adverse reactions
- Intermediate computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office or similar applications
