Job Summary

A networking services and software company needs applicants for an opening for a Telecommute Submarine Engineer.

Must be able to:

  • Lead or support Layer 0 characterization studies of live customer networks and propose innovative solutions
  • Support adjacent teams responsible for link budgeting, field deployments, troubleshooting and network audits
  • Contribute to the creation and evolution of software automation tools for field trial measurements

Skills and Requirements Include:

  • Available for global travel: estimated average travel rate of 25-35%
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field of discipline
  • Minimum 5 years in telecommunications industry related to optical transmission systems
  • Global experience in submarine systems a strong asset
  • Knowledge/experience with modulation formats (e.g., OOK, QPSK, BPSK, 8D-2QAM, 16QAM) and concepts
  • All other technical requirements necessary for this position
