Job Summary
A digital marketing firm has a current position open for a Telecommute WordPress Backend Developer in Chicago.
Must be able to:
- Develop and maintain custom WordPress plugins
- Develop or maintain our clients’ custom WordPress themes and the occasional premium themes
- Work to agreed upon development plans and within approved budgets
Qualifications for this position include:
- 3+ years of experience in developing and maintaining custom WordPress plugins
- Understanding of security best practices
- 3+ years of experience in front end coding using semantic and well-formed HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- 3+ years of experience building or assisting with the maintenance of well-organized, custom WordPress themes
- Implementing plugins when plugins are ideal
- Adding features/functionality to themes using JavaScript/jQuery
