Job Summary

A well-known health insurance company has a current position open for a Telecommuting Health Information Specialist in the La Crosse Area.

Must be able to:

• Apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology, and clinical disease processes
• Read and interpret health record documentation
• Assess the adequacy of health record documentation

Required Skills:

• Technical Training/Education in a medical related field (Equivalent combination of education, experience and/or applicable military experience will be considered)
• Knowledge of healthcare documentation and medical, behavioral, psychological terminology including medication names and applicable treatments
• Must have the ability to identify health issues that require immediate attention
• Must be able to perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracy
• Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office programs
• Ability to obtain the DEE (Defense Enterprise Email)
