Job Summary
A not-for-profit healthcare organization needs applicants for an opening for a Telecommuting Healthcare Inpatient Medical Coding Specialist.
Must be able to:
- Accurately code Inpatient records
- Ensure compliance of coding rules and regulations
- Abstract prescribed data elements from the medical records
Required Skills:
- Enjoy the flexibility of being able to work onsite or remote
- High School Diploma, Certificate of Attendance, Certificate of Completion, GED or equivalent training or experience required
- Required graduate from AHIMA accredited Coding program
- Required CCS certification within 2 years of employment, if not certified
- Knowledge and thorough understanding of encoder system, Inpatient Prospective Payment System and National and Local Coverage Determinations
- Proficient in Word and Excel
