Job Summary

A not-for-profit healthcare organization needs applicants for an opening for a Telecommuting Healthcare Inpatient Medical Coding Specialist.

Must be able to:

  • Accurately code Inpatient records
  • Ensure compliance of coding rules and regulations
  • Abstract prescribed data elements from the medical records

Required Skills:

  • Enjoy the flexibility of being able to work onsite or remote
  • High School Diploma, Certificate of Attendance, Certificate of Completion, GED or equivalent training or experience required
  • Required graduate from AHIMA accredited Coding program
  • Required CCS certification within 2 years of employment, if not certified
  • Knowledge and thorough understanding of encoder system, Inpatient Prospective Payment System and National and Local Coverage Determinations
  • Proficient in Word and Excel
