Job Summary
A provider of physician advisory and revenue cycle services is in need of a Telecommuting Inpatient Coder.
Must be able to:
- Review all documentation in the medical record and assigns codes for all diagnoses, treatments, and procedures
- Review physician assigned diagnosis code after thorough review of the medical record
- Accurately code conditions and procedures for complex inpatient and surgery accounts or code two or more outpatient types at an expert level
Qualifications for this position include:
- Minimum of RHIA, RHIT, and/or CCS credential
- Thorough knowledge of modifiers, HCPCS and denial handling
- Exceptional inpatient coding and surgery coding proficiency
- Accurately abstract information from the medial records into the abstract system
- Minimum of 3 years inpatient coding and/or auditing experience
- Abide by the Standards of Ethical Coding as set forth by the American Health Information Management Association(AHIMA) and adheres to official coding guidelines
