Job Summary
An IT company is seeking a Telecommuting Inpatient Coder in the Aurora Area.
Candidates will be responsible for the following:
- Coding inpatient conditions and procedures as documented in the ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines for Coding
- Reviewing clinical documentation and diagnostic results
- Extracting data and apply appropriate ICD-10-CM codes for billing, internal and external reporting, etc
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- This position requires one day onsite in Aurora, IL with the remainder of the days remote
- Ability to code and maintain >95% quality standards and meet productivity standards as documented for each project
- Three years or greater of inpatient coding experience in an acute care facility
- Credentials to include one or a combination of the following: RHIA, RHIT, and/or CCS
- Advanced knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, disease process, pharmacology, complex surgical procedures
- Advanced knowledge of accepted medical abbreviations and their meanings
