Job Summary

A health technology company needs applicants for an opening for a Telecommuting Laboratory Director in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Individual must be able to fulfill the following responsibilities:

  • Design assay validation studies
  • Provide leadership to the Operations, R&D, and Product Development teams
  • Review variant classifications and final reports

Position Requirements Include:

  • Travel to headquarters one week a month, if working remotely
  • ABMGG board-certified clinical molecular geneticist or ABP board-certified molecular genetic pathologist. FACMG and DABMG work too
  • Experience with interpreting variants in the context of the medical literature
  • Experience with corresponding with medical geneticists and oncologists on interpretation of results
  • Experience with design of gene panels and molecular tests
  • Experience with reviewing results of germline and/or somatic NGS assays for validity
