Job Summary

A healthcare company has a current position open for a Telecommuting Medical Coder.

Core Responsibilities of this position include:

• Reviewing inpatient charts to determine all diagnoses/procedure codes and accurate assignment of DRG
• Abstracting required elements from charts, including discharge dispositions
• Recognizing incomplete, conflicting, or ambiguous documentation and initiating physician queries

Required Skills:

• Must possess a thorough knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding principles and applications
• Thorough knowledge of Official Coding Guidelines and payer specific requirements
• Knowledge of various hospital information systems, encoders and other technologies
• Ability to troubleshoot minor technical issues
• Maintain 95% DRG and overall accuracy rate
• 2+ years working as a Medical Coder
• Minimum of successful completion of a coding certificate program in a program with AHIMA or AAPC approval status
