Job Summary
A staffing firm needs applicants for an opening for a Telecommuting Network Engineer in Research Triangle Park.
Candidates will be responsible for the following:
- Coaching team members of lesser experienced wireless or network engineers
- Supporting existing 802.11 infrastructure including Cisco lightweight indoor access points
- Engineering solutions to update wireless LAN coverage into existing facilities
Qualifications for this position include:
- Experience performing LAN hardware infrastructure changes (Layer 1 - 3)
- Extensive knowledge on the 802.11 technology and Cisco Systems products
- Knowledge of ST, SC, and LC fiber optic technologies
- BS Degree in engineering (IT, Telecom, Computer Science)
- Knowledge of VTP, STP, QoS, and cisco switch stack configurations
- In-depth understanding of troubleshooting Cisco router and switch configurations
