Job Summary

A software company has a current position open for a Telecommuting Open Source Support Engineer.

Core Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Working directly with customers and the community to solve development and operational issues
  • Writing blog posts, speaking at user groups/conferences, and helping with benchmarks
  • Researching, identifying, reproducing and documenting bugs

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Must be able to travel
  • Must live in the US Mountain and Pacific time zones
  • Have production experience in Windows and/or *NIX system administration
  • Spring, Hibernate, network programming and concurrency
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Java
  • Be able to troubleshoot and tune for performance (TCP/IP, Multicast, JVM Garbage Collection)
