Telecommuting Outpatient Coder

Job Summary

A healthcare company is searching for a person to fill their position for a Telecommuting Outpatient Coder.

Candidates will be responsible for the following:

• Reviewing medical record documentation and accurately assigning appropriate ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT IV, and HCPCS codes
• Correctly abstracting required data per facility specifications
• Performing "medical necessity checks" for Medicare and other payers as required per payment guidelines.

Qualifications Include:

• Vocational/Technical Degree in HIM/Coding
• If RHIA or RHIT or CCA upon hire without COC or CCS, will be required to acquire COC or CCS and CRCR within 1 year of hire
• Completion of Coding Curriculum wtih one year of previous coding experience
