Job Summary
A non-profit healthcare provider has an open position for a Telecommuting Outpatient Specialized Medical Coder.
Core Responsibilities Include:
- Coding and abstracting complex/specialized outpatient cases
- Abiding by the Standards of Ethical Coding for proper insurance reimbursement
- Maintaining the confidentiality of patient records
Position Requirements Include:
- RHIT, AHIMA, RHIA, AHIMA, or CCA within 1 year, or CCS
- Associate's Degree in Health Information Management or related field
- 3 years of experience in coding in an acute health care environment
- Knowledge of NCCI edits and local and national coverage decisions
- Expert knowledge of ICD & CPT coding systems, G-codes, HCPCS codes and CPT modifiers
