Temporary Software Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a part-time Temporary Software Engineer to join the product team for a four-month engagement, focusing on enhancing the analytics platform, optimizing advertising infrastructure, and developing features within the Content Management System, with a commitment of 16 hours per week in a fully remote capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Enhance and maintain the existing analytics platform to improve reporting and performance
• Support the development and optimization of advertising infrastructure
• Design and build interactive tools and features for the Content Management System

Required qualifications

• Fluency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, git, and Ruby on Rails (or a comparable framework)
• Familiarity with the command line and Git
• Experience with SQL databases
• Experience working with third-party APIs and asynchronous job processing
• Experience in a newsroom environment is a plus
