Key Responsibilities
- Reviews patient information and assigns CPT/ICD-10-CM codes for coding purposes
- Discusses documentation inconsistencies with providers and ensures accurate information in medical records
- May research denied claims and assist with patient accounts as needed
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- No prior work experience required
- Knowledge of medical and clinical terminology, disease processes, and pharmacology
- Familiarity with CPT/ICD-10-CM and Modifiers
- Proficient in computer programs
