Job Summary
Working remotely on a part-time basis, the Tennessee Licensed Coding Specialist will review, accurately assign, and abstract diagnostic and procedural codes for patient encounters while supporting ongoing staff training and development.
Key responsibilities:
- Organizes and prioritizes complex coding work to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital targets
- Assigns appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes, recognizing documentation clarification opportunities
- Serves as a clinical coding subject matter expert and initiates coding queries or tasks
Required qualifications:
- Tennessee Licensed Coding Specialist certification
- Relevant work experience of at least 4 years
- High School Diploma or GED
- Advanced knowledge of medical coding and terminology
- Understanding of compliance regulations and guidelines
